National Youth Observatory

The National Youth Observatory (ONJ) ​​is a public institution responsible for studies, information, training and documentation on youth.

The ONJ relies on its expertise and experience to strengthen its partnerships with civil society, the public sector, the private sector and international organizations.

Mission :

  • Promote scientific research in the field of youth.
  • Carry out studies, research and surveys in order to produce data and indicators on the state of youth in Tunisia.
  • Organize symposia, forums and reflection workshops on youth themes.
  • Strengthen the capacities of young people and civil society
  • Provide young people and youth workers with useful information and documentation on youth matters.
  • Implement programs and projects with national and international partners

The United Nations Population Fund, in cooperation with the National Youth Observatory, as an organization concerned with youth, works to strengthen their role as actors and participants in decision-making, in accordance with the Tunisia's commitment, within the framework of the Nairobi Summit of the International Conference on Population and Development +25 and the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.

In the same context, the United Nations Population Fund has strengthened its partnership with the National Youth Observatory to address youth issues in relation to the construction of peace and the dissemination of the values ​​of non-violence. through cooperation to build a national strategy on youth, peace and security in which young people are an active partner.

The partnership between the Fund and the Observatory has also become strategic through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Tunisian Government and the United Nations Population Fund for the Observatory to host the Center of Excellence for youth in the Arab region.
