The Tunisian Association Against Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS (short in French: ATL MST Sida Tunis), created in 1990, is the first association dedicated to combat AIDS in Tunisia. ATL MST Sida Tunis is a pioneer in the field of prevention among the general population, high-risk populations and in the promotion of the Risk Reduction (RR) approach of injected drugs use.

ATL MST Sida Tunis's mission is to contribute to the HIV response in Tunisia and reduce its impact at all levels; thereby contributing to national and global efforts fighting this epidemic.

ATL MST Sida Tunis works in the following areas:

• •Prevention: among the general population and the populations most at risk (IDU / SW/ MSM/ Migrants / Detainees)
• •Comprehensive care for people affected and living with HIV at the national level, and care for populations at risk.
• •Psycho-social support
• •Advocacy for a national strategy for risk reduction (RR), care for PLWHIV, CCM reform, introduction of methadone, reduction of stigma / discrimination against PLWHIV and key population / Promotion of human rights / and abolition of liberticidal laws.
• •Operational research
• •Technical support at national and regional level
• •Legal aid
• •KAP centers: 4 Centers for Users of Injectable Drugs (IDU) in Grand Tunis, Nabeul and Gafsa offering socio-medical, psychological, psychiatric, occupational therapy and legal assistance, with cultural and sports activities.
• •HIV screening

AIDS Info: a special number is made available for the general population to learn about AIDS in Tunisia.

Care for people using drugs and their socio-professional reintegration,
With UNFPA, ATL MST Sida Tunis collaborates to provide psychosocial assistance to LGBTIQ ++ people affected by the COVID19 health crisis and to improve the access of migrants in Tunis, Sousse and Gafsa to services related to STIs and HIV; through a community needs assessment, support group discussions and a large-scale awareness campaign.

Finally, ATL MST Sida Tunis celebrates this year its 30 years of of commitment and action on HIV in Tunisia.
